Canterbury Bell Card

Morning everyone

As promised in my post yesterday, here is the third card I made on Wednesday.  I didn't try any crafting yesterday as I needed to give my wrist a rest after making three cards the day before but am hoping I might manage some today.

The decoupaged image on this card is from my Flower Fairies cd by Crafters Companion and is the Canterbury Bell fairy.  I used my Cameo to cut it all out - the first time I have tried the print and cut facility.  I think I may need to practise tracing the outline to ensure accuracy but I was pleased with the result for a first attempt.  I did forget to trace the "landlocked" areas however, so have left those layers off my card as I can't cut them myself at the moment.  And here it is:

I cut the scalloped mat from Centura Pearl card and also printed and cut the sentiment using my Cameo and added some card candi to finish the card.

I designed a matching insert in my Craft Artist software, using an insert from the cd and then simply adding a "thumbnail" sized picture of the Canterbury Bell fairy myself.

I will personalise and print the insert when I am ready to use this card.

Thank you for dropping in.

  5. Lovely card Catherine, you've done so well with the fairy with it being your first time and one handed too!.....I must have thrown away 6 or 7 before I was happy with my first cut outs. I thought the Craft Robo would be good enough as it's bigger than the Cricut 12x6 mat, but I think maybe I need the Cameo now!

  9. Thank you for you lovely comments ladies. Alas no crafting today either - but I did manage to explore the software a bit more and think I have now sussed how to cut selected items without having to delete others.

  10. Stunning card again, Catherine, with beautiful colours and composition. I also think the shaped matts and layers finish the card to perfection.

  14. Thank you Sheenagh, Dawn, Beckie and Louise. Unfortunately I can't take the credit for the insert Louise - it's from the Crafters Companion cd and I just resized it to fit my card and added a thumbnail pic.

  17. Thank you Rachael. So far I am very pleased with my Cameo. Hubby bought it for me for Christmas and I ordered it from Crafters Companion because their Customer Service is so good.

    1. Thank you Catherine for your reply I really appreciate it, unfortunately crafters companions have none in stock at the moment. However I've found a company called classycrafts.co.uk might try them. :) Can't wait to see your future creations with it. Hope your wrist is improving.
