Decoupaged flower fairy card

Hello everyone

Well still trying to get through all my little jobs but progress is slow.  I managed to sneak in another card though.  I was tidying up in the craft room and somehow managed to find a sheet of Flower Fairies die cut decoupage in the bottom of a drawer - can't remember why I decided to root around in the drawer in the first place but I had obviously managed to get side-tracked.  Well, I mean, it doesn't take very long to press out some decoupage pieces and layer them all up and I thought that I could put them away once they had dried and they would be ready for a card once I had time to start crafting again properly.  So once they were dry I thought, well, it needn't take long to just make one teeny tiny little card.  So here it is folks

The entire card, with the exception of the decoupaged fairy, is made from Centura Pearl snow white card.  The card base and the central mat were cut on my Cameo (I had previously cut them and put them to one side for future use!)  The swirly bits were cut using a Cheery Lyn die and I added some extra dimension by using a couple of embossing folders.  This is the first time that I have tried white on white and actually been happy with the result.  Hope you all like it too.

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Faerie Poppets and Cameo Creations

Good morning everyone

Like I said yesterday, I managed to sneak in a card on Friday.  I have just received a set of Faerie Poppets die cut decoupage and a copy of Tina Fitch's new Cameo Creations cd and was itching to play with both of them.  As time was very limited I decided to try and combine something from both of them into one card.  Here it is

Now I'm not normally a fan of fairies (apart from the original flower fairies) but decided to give these a go and of course, as you can see, my first choice to make a card was a faerie poppet flower fairy!

The card base is made from a piece of cream card I have had in my stash forever, so I have no idea where I originally got it from.  The whole base was cut in one piece using one of the files on Tina's cd.  I have added some gold mirri paper behind the words to make them stand out, and a piece of coloured parchment behind the aperture.  I stuck my fairy onto a circle of gold mirri paper which I had embossed using a cuttlebug embossing folder and then added this to the circular centre of the card.  I finished it off with little flowers and leaves cut using a punch and some scraps of vellum and pearlised paper.

I love the effect the light has on the vellum - it almost looks like a window.

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Popcorn Birthday Card

Hello everyone

I am just dipping in very quickly this afternoon to post a card I made for my son's partner for her birthday, which she shares with St Patrick!  I managed to sneak some time to make a card yesterday but haven't had time to photograph it yet!

The card base is made from Centura Pearl and was cut on my Cameo.  The image is from my Popcorn the Bear cd by Crafters Companion.

I have just finished putting together six copies of my family history project that has been keeping me fully occupied and away from blogging (and crafting) for the last while.  You just wouldn't believe the amount of time I have spent trying to find extra pages to fit the scrapbooks I have used but thankfully I finally sorted it all out.  Baking next and then I really have to tidy and spring clean before normal service will be resumed.  I think poor hubby will be glad when I am finished too - he's getting a bit sick of cremated dinners!  I will blog some of it after Easter, all being well.

Thank you for dropping by.
