Parchment Birthday Card

Evening everyone

Tonight I thought I would share a card I made some time ago as I haven't completed any new cards today.  Been colouring with my ProMarkers again for a while this afternoon.  Hopefully I will get some cards done tomorrow.

Anyway I made this card from my friend's 60th birthday, and I had quite a few attempts at doing it because I kept losing count when I was doing the gridwork, so it took me quite a while to do.  Here's the card

The Centre panel was made using a rubber stamp from Joanna Sheen which was heat embossed on the front of the parchment.   I then embossed the back of the parchment using a ball tool around the edges and in the centre flowers, and then added some pearls.  This was matted onto another piece of parchment which I had pricked and embossed using a grid (which is where I had the problems!).  I didn't work from a pattern, which is why the design is very simple!  I designed it so that I could thread ribbon along the borders at the top and bottom of the card, and then added pearls down the two side borders.  I attched this to a piece of pink mirri card using brads in the corners and then attached this to a plain white card base.  I finished the card with a parchment flower, which I made following a pattern and a couple of peel-offs.

I am pleased to report that my friend liked her birthday card.

Thank you for visiting my blog.
